Today, I turn 28.


We spent the weekend in West Palm Beach celebrating with Ryan and Jess.

Lots of stories there.

But I'll save those for another day.

Because today is my birthday...

{And I don't want to talk about bad things like planes getting stuck in the mud...missing not one, not two, but THREE connecting flights...having to deplane in the pouring rain...riding mass transit busses... }

...And I may or may not have an unhealthy obsession with my birthday.

It all started in 1984. My FIRST birthday party. Instead of a "smash cake," The Susan purchased this elaborate beauty for my celebration...

Not only did I have an entire day to be the center of everyone's attention, but there was also cake. Mmmmmmm. Cake....
{Of course, that cake and every subsequent cake went straight to my thighs...}


Despite my new found discovery of delicious baked goods, I learned really quickly that the best part about my birthday wasn't the cake or the party...it was the all new birthday dresses that The Susan bought me!

Year after year, the dresses (and the hair) grew bigger and more fabulous!

And now...twenty seven years after my first birthday party...I find myself with an unhealthy obsession with frilly dresses, big hair, and of course, my birthday.
I can't wait to see what 28 has in store for me. I have been blessed far more than I can even begin to convey. I have an amazing husband, the greatest friends that a girl could ask for, and a family that I love more than life itself. I am so incredibly grateful for all the wonderful experiences that I have had, and I can't wait to see what the next year holds for me.

So, here's to you, 28.
